Trump Showed Kim A Faux Movie Trailer At Their Historic Singapore Summit

President Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un earlier this week at the Singapore Summit, but their historic meeting didn't pass without a little movie magic.

In a faux movie trailer, put together by the National Security Council and The White House, Mr. Trump and Kim are described by the narrator as "Two men. Two leaders. One destiny. A story about a special moment in time..."

The video aired personally to Kim during their meeting, and then again to a room of reporters to set up the president's press conference following the summit.

"Seven billion people inhabit planet Earth," the voice over began. "Of those alive today, only a small number will leave a lasting impact. And only the very few will make decision or take actions that renew their homeland and change the course of history."

The four-minute trailer didn't include much information or specifics from the meeting between the two leaders, but the White House said it was meant to "motivate Mr. Kim to break out of the country's long isolation and rejoin the world by giving up his nuclear weapons."

"That was a version of what could happen, what could take place," the president told reporters. "As an example, they have great beaches. You see that whenever they're exploding their cannons into the ocean, right? I said, 'Boy, look at the view. Wouldn't that make a great condo behind?"

The video starts with a title card that reads, "A Destiny Pictures production." However, the Los Angeles-based production company said they had nothing to do with the creation of the trailer.

National security council spokesman Garrett Marquis later released a statement, saying the video "was created by the NSC to help the President demonstrate the benefits of complete denuclearization, and a version of a peaceful and prosperous Korean Peninsula."

So, was Kim Jong Un impressed? No one knows for sure.

But Trump said that Mr. Kim "really enjoyed it" when he showed it to him during their meeting.

President Trump later referred to the video as "the future," saying "it captures a lot. It captures what could be done. And that's a great -- a great place. It has the potential to be an incredible place."
