1 of 3 HB 2853 is being sold as a universal empowerment scholarship bill but it also calls for any private school that enrolls at least 50 new students because of the ESA expansion to have standardized tests. It's to get the votes of three RINOs: Joanne Osborne, Joel John & Michelle Udall. Standardized testing hasn't helped public school and it's a reason why parents put kids in private school. Why would Center for Arizona Policy, Goldwater and American Federation for Children support this? So the GOP can mandate standardized testing in private schools (private businesses) but didn't want to tell private business they can't mandate covid shots?
