REPORT: Rod Rosenstein Heading to White House, Expects to be Fired
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is reportedly planning to resign from his position at the Department of Justice Monday; stepping-down after an explosive New York Time’s article claims he planned on secretly recording the President inside the Oval Office.
According to Axios, the Deputy Attorney General offered his verbal resignation to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly following the Times report, with inside sources confirming “he’s expecting to be fired” so he’s resigning in advance.
“Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge. Per a second source with direct knowledge: ‘He’s expecting to be fired,’ so he plans to step down,” writes Axios.
“Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is heading to the White House expecting to be fired, sources tell Fox News, in the wake of a report that he suggested wearing a wire against President Trump and invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office last year,” adds Fox News.
